Museum plans drop-in event, symposium

Registration is now under way for the 18th annual Biedenharn Garden Symposium, to be held from 9 a.m.-3:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at the West Monroe Convention Center.

Topics include "Shade Gardening and Promising Plants for the South" with Dr. David Creech, "Make Your Event Special" with floral designer Terry Conerly and "Creating a Garden in Your Yard" with Dr. Neil Odenwald.

Attendance fee for the symposium is $40 per person and includes lectures, lunch and refreshments.

The museum also is offering a drop-in activity for children from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 8.

The plant dye Easter cards will take 15-30 minutes to complete. The fee is $3 per child. Decorated Easter eggs will also be on display during the event, along with handouts featuring recipes and other ideas for using natural dyes.
