Franklin catfish festival seeks vendors, artists
The Franklin Parish Catfish Festival is looking for high-quality, unique arts and crafts for this year's event.
The festival will be held April 12 in downtown Winnsboro and typically features close to 300 arts and crafts and commercial vendors.
"We're hosting the largest one-day festival in Louisiana," director Paul Price said. "We have 15-20,000 visitors each year who enjoy the great family atmosphere, music and catfish.
"And they love to shop."
Price said the festival has always enjoyed an eclectic mix of arts, crafts and other sale items and organizers would like to encourage new vendors to participate.
"We are particularly interested in unique, handcrafted items from local and regional artisans," Price said. "This is an excellent opportunity for Louisiana's artists and craftsmen to showcase their talents."

In addition to arts, crafts and commercial booths, the festival features musical entertainment on three stages, a huge display of antique cars, Corvettes and motorcycles and a very popular children's area. |
