Boys playoff pairings announced The LHSAA has released the prep boys playoff pairings.
In Class 5A, No. 14 seed West Monroe will host No. 16 seed Hammond at 6:30 p.m. Friday night.
No 12 seed Ouachita has drawn No. 21 seed Bonnabel at 7 p.m. Friday for its first round game in the state 5A playoffs.
"They won their district so we know they're a tough team," said Ouachita coach Casey Jones. "We don't have much time to prepare but neither do they. I do know they've won nine of their last 10 games."
Ouachita finished the season with a 20-13 record and were 5-1 in the District 2-5A, finishing tied for first with Ruston.
In Class 4A No. 26 seed Neville will travel to No. 7 seed Ellender for a 7 p.m. Friday contest.
"It's gonna be tough," said Neville coach Phillip Craig. "They are the second place team in that district, plus we have to travel down there."
Ellender is located in Houma.
In Class C, No. 29 seed Claiborne Christian will have to travel to No. 4 seed Athens on Friday night. Game time is 7 p.m.
"It's a tough draw," said Claiborne coach Josh Brown. "As young as we are its going to be a battle." |
