Quarterfinal round games set The No. 5 seed St. Thomas More will travel from Lafayette to West Monroe Thursday night to take on the No. 4 seed Lady Rebels. Game time is 6 p.m. in the Rebels gym.
"It's a typical day before the game attitude," said West Monroe coach John Green. "The girls are excited. We'll have to see how it goes. St. Thomas More is a very, very good team. It will be an extremely difficult game. It should make for a good match."
The No. 6 seed Neville Lady Tigers will travel to Baton Rouge Thursday for a 6 p.m., contest in the 4A quarterfinal round against the No. 3 seed St. Michael.
"We've really got to play well," Neville coach Laurie Guimbellot said. "They have a solid team and we've got to play a solid game."
This marks the first time in a while the Lady Tigers have been one step away from the Top 28.
"Our girls have worked hard and they are playing well as a team right now," Guimbellot said.
The other game pits No. 3 seed Ouachita Christian School at home against No. 6 seed and District 2-1A rival Arcadia at 7 p.m., Thursday. Arcadia and OCS tied for the district championship at the end of the season two weeks ago.
"It's down to eight teams now and whoever plays the best will win," said OCS coach Jeremy Shackelford. "Our girls are really playing well now and they are really enjoying practicing and playing." |
