Cultura donates money to pregnancy resource center The Cultura Book Club hosted guest speaker Lyndsey Breard, administrator of Life Choices Pregnancy Center, for its January meeting.
Introduced by Sue Drewett, Breard told about the many programs provided by Life Choices, from pregnancy tests, to ultrasounds, to parenting classes.
These services, as well as food, clothing and baby items are provided free to clients. A faith-based organization, Life Choices receives no state funds. Terri Debnam of West Monroe serves as the organization's attorney.
Cultura members presented Breard with baby bottles which were filled with money to be used for the center's programs.
The meeting, attended by 26 members, was held at the home of Linda Armstrong. Loyce Whitlock and Sue Greer were co-hostesses.
Kitty Liner, president, conducted the business meeting, in which Annette Bedgood reported on the club's Christmas project. The project involved provided two local families with food, clothing and toys. |
