Aspiring actor Joshua Madison, a 17-year-old Neville High School senior, earned a spot in a regional talent showcase by winning a talent hunt sponsored by the Mu Tau Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

The contest was held last Thursday at Wossman High School. He performed a dramatic interpretation of a passage from "Two Rooms" by Lee Blessings. The play centers on a hostage situation in the Middle East.

Madison will next compete against other talent hunt winners from Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma on Friday, March 21, at the Omega's annual district meeting in San Antonio, Texas. The winner of this year's contest in San Antonio will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship and take part in the international competition to be held at the fraternity's Conclave in Birmingham in June.

Madison is the son of Mark and Marie Madison of Monroe. He plans to major in mass communications in college and wants to become an actor.

The Talent Hunt is a mandated program of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and is held each year by the Mu Tau graduate chapter of Monroe in conjunction with the Mu Lambda undergraduate chapter of the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
