Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo will be easily re-elected in the Feb. 9 primary election, according to a poll obtained by The Ouachita Citizen.

In a Jan. 21-22 survey of some 1,721 Monroe households, Mayo led a field of five candidates with 57.3 percent of the vote. Jack Buttitta polled second with 12.1 percent. Tony Little was in third with 10.9 percent, while Clinto Thomas polled fourth with 7.4 percent. Ali Moghimi closed out the field of candidates with 2.9 percent.

Some 9.3 percent of the respondents were undecided.

The poll was conducted for the Mayo campaign. Mayo's campaign paid for the poll as well.

The poll's margin of error was less than 4 percent.
