OCS clinches playoff berth The Ouachita Christian School Lady Eagles have clinched a playoff berth with a 2-1 Division III, District II victory over Calvary Baptist last Friday night.
The first round opponent in Division III will be Louise McGehee of New Orleans. The game will be played at 3 p.m., today (Thursday) in New Orleans.
"We're excited about how we've played this year," said OCS coach Bruce Deaton. "We lost seven to graduation last season but we've picked up right where we were."
Abbey Chowns and Hope Cook scored both goals. Chowns' goal came in the first half, and Cook's goal came in the second half.
Calvary Baptist scored one goal late in the game in the second half.
Kacie Lindsey was named the top defender in the contest.
OCS improved to 14-8-1 overall and 8-2 in the district race.
In other playoff action, Neville will host Loyola Friday. Both boys and girls teams will take on Loyola in the first round. The girls game will begin at 5 p.m. with the boys game immediately following.
West Monroe's Lady Rebels will have a home match against Barbe at 6 p.m. at Rebel Stadium.
St. Frederick will travel to Bossier City to face Parkway in a doubleheader with the first game beginning at 6 p.m. |
