Do we limit ourselves to leper's squint?
Not long ago I read a most interesting description of an ancient Gothic church building in a little country community in England.
There was a large front door for most of the people. I say "most" because there was a strange accommodation built into the wall. It was rather small slot, something like a letter drop. It was called the "leper's squint!" The writer went on to comment on the sad plight of these poor unfortunates who, unable to assemble with the congregation, could get only an occasional and disjointed glimpse of the worship proceedings.
