Monroe arena proposal picks up support A proposal to build a new, multi-use arena in Monroe is gaining steam following a meeting last week in which architects working on the project introduced team members to the community.
Jackson-based architecture firm of M3A is conducting a study to determine the feasibility of an arena project in Monroe. Among the information M3A gathered are lists potential sites for the arena, funding mechanisms and a market survey to determine the usefulness of a facility.
It is all being done in an effort to shape what Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo calls "the next signature project" for the city.
