Monroe chamber recognizes Farr, Weaver

A longtime Monroe insurance executive is the latest winner of the Rambin-Silverstein Memorial Civic Award, the highest honor given by the Monroe Chamber of Commerce.

Joseph P. Farr of the Thomas and Farr Agency accepted the annual award from 2007 winner Linda Holyfield at the chamber's annual meeting and banquet last week.

It was held Jan. 10 at the Monroe Civic Center.

The Rambin-Silverstein Award recognizes outstanding individual leadership and service as well as community spirit and volunteerism. It has been given annually for 47 years. Holyfield said Farr exemplified the meaning of the honor.
