An investigation into an officer-involved shooting in Monroe continues under the direction of the Louisiana State Police.

The shooting occurred during a domestic disturbance call in south Monroe, in the early morning hours of Dec. 29.

"Around 12:30 Monroe police Officers responded to a 911 call where the suspect was ordered to leave the premises and not return," said Louisiana State Police spokesman Albert Paxton. "Around 2 a.m., officers received a second 911 call from the South 9th Street residence in Monroe."

Monroe Police officers returned to the home, where they discovered 25 year-old Detandel Devon Pickens of Monroe had returned to the residence in spite of police warnings to vacate the premises.
