Mankind can't cut away hunting memories

Queenie was her name. She was a redbone hound who belonged to my Uncle Rufus.

We would use Queenie for coon hunting at night and squirrel hunting by day. A lot of times when we went to visit Grandmother and Granddaddy Payne for a few nights, we would go coon hunting out in front of their house. Daddy, Uncle Rufus, my brother Devone, cousins Don, Fabian, and Donald and I.

Maybe another uncle would come along. We did not hunt too long because everyone went to bed fairly early, but we went long enough to enjoy the hunt and listen to the howls of Queenie when she treed a coon.
