Board rejects Neville charter The future of a proposed charter school at Neville is unclear.
That's the case because the Monroe City School Board voted Tuesday night to deny a charter application from a group spearheading the charter movement at Neville.
The Neville Alumni and Friends Association, or NAFA, presented its request to establish the charter school to the School Board at its regular meeting.
NAFA supporters say they want to improve Neville High School and to expand offerings at the school. NAFA spokesman Ronnie Shelby suggested that a more diverse course offering at Neville would be among the first areas of improvement.
