Christmas message: So easy to get carried away By. Rev. Tom Lowe Special to The Citizen
What an exciting time of year! Christmas is just days away and it's looking likely that we will have the makings of a "Louisiana snowman" this year, with the strong possibility of rain beginning on Christmas Eve!
And yet, the true joy of Christmas doesn't depend on the weather; it isn't predicated by what is or is not under the tree on Christmas morning. True Christmas joy comes through knowing the Christ of Christmas and by a renewed awareness of all that His coming to earth as a baby really means.
It's so easy to get carried away with the sights and sounds of the holidays — all the lights, music, decorations and gatherings quickly delude us.
