The Ouachita Parish School Board will hold a public hearing Dec. 27 on district reapportionment following the 2012 Census.

The hearing will be followed immediately by a special school board meeting to vote on the proposed district lines.

Public bodies such as the School Board must redraw district lines every 10 years to adjust for population shifts as reflected in the decennial U.S. Census.

The School Board's efforts on that front were overseen by North Delta Planning and Development, an agency with extensive local experience in the process.
