$27k budget surplus surfaces in Sterlington The Town of Sterlington will end this fiscal year in the black after all.
Based on updated figures, Mayor Vern Breland said it appears that instead of a $27,000 deficit town officials previously expected, the budget shows a $27,000 surplus.
Breland delivered that news at a regular meeting of the Sterlington Board of Aldermen Tuesday night. At that meeting, Breland informed aldermen that Sterlington would have a healthy surplus next December, too.
"The town general fund operating budget, we're anticipating revenues next year of $863,977, and expenditures of $734,463," Breland said. "So we'll actually end next year with a good surplus, about $130,000 surplus for next year." .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
