Edwards charms hundreds at chamber banquet Former Gov. Edwin Edwards displayed his trademark charm and wit during remarks to the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce's annual banquet Monday night.
Now 85, Edwards had the audience several hundred people alternately laughing and applauding as he touched on topics from his legacy as governor, to natural gas fracking, to the current governor.
Edwards also did not shy away from talking about his time in federal prison. He served more than eight years of a 10-year sentence for racketeering, but joked about the experience.
