Miss Louisiana shows off style Sunday at Squire Creek
The Miss Louisiana Organization invites you to the annual Miss America Style Show featuring Miss Louisiana 2012, Lauren Vizza on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at 4:00 pm at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, Louisiana. The style show will give Lauren an opportunity to showcase her wardrobe selections for the Miss America Pageant.
Vizza, describes herself as "a complete sports fanatic who turned in her soccer cleats for high heels and a crown!" She is a Senior at Louisiana Tech University majoring in Political Science with minors in History and English. Following her undergraduate degree, Lauren plans to obtain her Juris Doctorate and pursue a career in foreign diplomacy.
Lauren currently serves as the spokesperson and ambassador for Louisiana's Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, the Louisiana March of Dimes, Louisiana Cares for Children and the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Lauren has been actively involved in many organizations at Louisiana Tech University, as well as throughout the state. She promotes her platform Be a S.T.A.R. everywhere she travels encouraging students of all ages to realize their interests and devote time volunteering and giving of themselves for others.
The Miss America Pageant will be held at the Planet Hollywood Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV, January 8 – 12. Each contestant will compete in Interview, Evening Gown, Swimsuit, Talent and On Stage Question. Preliminary competition will be the 8th, 9th and 10th, and the live televised finals will air on ABC on January 12th. The Miss Louisiana Organization is a volunteer based Board of Directors that works to share the accomplishments of the contestants and provide scholarships to further their education. In 2012, the Miss Louisiana Organization made available over $1 million in scholarships. The Miss America Organization makes available over $45 million in cash and scholarships annually, making them the number one provider of scholarships to young women in the world.
