School Board reinstates teacher supplies allowance Teachers in the Ouachita Parish school system will get a $75 supplies allowance this academic year after all.
At its regular meeting last week, the School Board reversed an earlier decision to suspend the allotment.
Board members also decided to discontinue regular summer school for middle schools, effective immediately.
Business Manager Juanita Duke told the School Board that in light of this year's growth in student population, the school system's Finance Committee decided the allotment for school supplies could be reinstated.
