Committees approve OGB contract Claims management for state employees and retirees will be transferred from the Office of Group Benefits to Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Louisiana, after two legislative committees consented to the move last week.
Earlier this year, Jindal administration officials proposed shuttering much of the OGB claims operations and transferring those operations to a third-party administrator.
The Senate Finance Committee voted 9-3 to approve the contract. A similar vote by the House Appropriations Committee passed 15-9.
The approval of the contract means Blue Cross will administer all of OGB's health insurance plans that cover state employees and retirees, with the exception of those operated by Monroe-based Vantage Health Plan. .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
