This week, West Monroe author PK Nations celebrates the nationwide release of her new novel, "Redeeming Pawn Ticket."

In the story, a few days after giving birth, Deborah Faye Banks disappears from Catalpa, La., leaving Mrs. Rose Thatcher to be the unorthodox guardian of her daughter, Pawn Ticket. Though Rose is in her 50s and has no experience raising children, she takes on the job of taking care of Pawn willingly.

To her greater surprise, after many years of close friendship with her dearest friend, Henry, she receives an offer of marriage—which she accepts — making Pawn, Rose and Henry a happy family.
