Philippians 4:6–7 says, "Do not be anxious about anything but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

I think that we should always turn to God during the crises in our lives; but, if that is the only time we talk to God, we are missing the whole point of a relationship with the Father. Take a moment right now and let's make our requests known to the Lord. The peace of God is an amazing thing. — Cody Keys, Collegiate Pastor/First West Fairbanks' Student Pastor

Our question today is this, "Why do we seemingly wait for a crisis to happen to call out to the Lord?" He really wants to hear from us and He wants us to have a daily relationship with him. 

When we get to the bottom of barrel so to speak, Vance Pitman said, "that he had never seen anyone who could not find the words to talk to the Lord when they left the doctor's office with a six-months-to-live cancer diagnosis! Awareness of HIS continuous presence with us can bring joy even in the grayest of days.

Martha Jane Anderson retired from University of Louisiana-Monroe after 35 years of service as Assistant Dean of Students and SGA Advisor. She is married to Patrick H. Anderson Sr., has two children, and four grandchildren.
