Counselor's Corner: We all need a person to lean on Relational Resilience
School counselors from all over Louisiana just met for our annual conference in Lake Charles last Sunday through Tuesday. There were lots of interesting speakers and programs.
One outstanding session was presented by Froma Walsh, Ph.D, called "Healing, Transformation and Positive Growth out of Adversity." She discussed how serious crises and stresses can shatter lives and relationships, but some individuals and families can overcome their challenges and grow stronger. This is a result of resilience.
She identified some keys to resilience that enable individuals to cope with troubled situations. Most of these keys to resilience deal with relationships.
