BATON ROUGE -- After suffering its first loss in the regular season since 2010, the LSU football team dropped to No. 9 in the AP Top 25 and No. 8 in the USA Today Coaches' Poll released on Sunday morning.

LSU (5-1, 1-1 SEC) lost to then-No. 10 Florida on Saturday in "The Swamp," 14-6. The Tigers now face undefeated and third-ranked South Carolina (6-0, 4-0 SEC) on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

The Oct. 13 matchup will mark the first time in the 19-game series history that the Gamecocks enter ranked higher than LSU in the AP Top 25. Four of these matchups pre-date the poll.

LSU Poll History: AP | Coaches

The teams have met six times since South Carolina joined the SEC in 1992, with LSU holding a 4-1-1 advantage.

LSU has won 21-straight home games.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on ESPN.
