The First Amendment is 225 years old and, in celebration of the landmark, Ken Paulson issued a challenge to a group of college and high school students.

Paulson, a renowned expert and First Amendment activist, called on students Tuesday to name the five freedoms codified in the First Amendment. He spoke at an event at the University of Louisiana-Monroe.

"Every American feels they have a handle on freedoms," Paulson told The Ouachita Citizen.

"But only 14 percent can name the five freedoms protected by the First Amendment," he said. "That's a gap we have to address."
