Girls invited to scouting event School age girls and their families are invited to a carnival of fun on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 1-4 p.m. at Pine Wood Camp and Program Center near Sterlington.
The event will help girls explore the many "pathways" to the Girl Scout experience. Ways to experience Girl Scouting outside the traditional troop include camp, travel, series and events. Along with popcorn, face painting, beanbag toss, button pin making, roasting marshmallows for s'mores, and making friendship bracelets, the carnival of fun booths will highlight each of the five "pathways."
The event is free and open to all school age girls and their families who want to learn more about participating in Girl Scouting.
For more information or directions to Pine Wood, contact Gay Brantley at (318)726-4371 or 376-4712 or Margaret Rivoire at 323-0533 or 512-6866.
The Carnival of Fun is being hosted by the Friends of Pine Wood and Girl Scouts of Louisiana Pines to the Gulf Council. For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
