Is your business or non-profit organization ready for the next disaster or disruption in normal business? The Stephenson Disaster Management Institute, Center for Business Preparedness at SDMI, Governor's Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness, and GetaGamePlan.Org want to help you and your business be prepared.

A free seminar/workshop will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the West Monroe Senior Center, located at 1800 North Seventh St., West Monroe. The workshop is free but you must register to attend. Go online to the following web site to register: http://readytoresumemonroe.eventbrite.com.

The workshop will educate and inform small business owners and non-profit organizations about the hazards and risks to which they are vulnerable, and ways in which those hazards and risks can be reduced through preparedness and mitigation methods.

For more information, go to the above web site or call Lexie Bowling at (225) 578-7034.
