Church hosts candidate forum
St. James United Methodist Church will host a Meet-And-Greet for candidates vying for seats on the Monroe City Council on Saturday, Sept. 22.
Organizers for the event — which will begin at 3 p.m. — say it will provide contenders for positions in districts 2, 3, and 4 the opportunity to share with voters their vision for the city and their respective council districts.
The church, located at 700 South 6th Street, also will conduct voter registration at the site.
