Victor Cascio passes away Local restauranteur and celebrity columnist Victor Cascio has died after a lengthy illness.
Cascio was well known throughout northeast Louisiana as much for his restaurant, The Chateau, as he was known for his popular weekly society column in the Monroe News-Star. Cascio also hosted seasonal television segments on KNOE-8. "Holidays with Victor" featured holiday-themed tablescapes and party themes throughout the year.
Cascio operated The Chateau with his wife, Marie, and numerous family members. Together with The Cork Room, The Chateau was the "in" place for more than 40 years.
Away from Monroe, Cascio rubbed elbows with some of the most illustrious names in society and counted among his friends and acquaintances Gloria Vanderbilt and Donald Trump.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. |
