Peppers speaks to group about former Monroe mayor

The Northeast Louisiana Genealogical & Historical Society met on Sunday, Aug. 12, in the Louis Locke room of the main library on Stubbs Avenue in Monroe.

James Free presided. He welcomed members and guests. He made announcements about loss of board members from the society, especially the death of Terry Perritt, historian.

A nominating committee was chosen for the selection of officers for the coming year: Margie Brown, Jo Ann Bennett and Sue LaBorde.

Free introduced the speaker, Lora Peppers from the genealogy department of the library. Her topic was "Mayor Andrew Alexander Forsythe."
