River Oaks picks up first win of the season The River Oaks Mustangs (1-1) notched their first win of the year with a 32-20 victory over the Cenla Christian Lions (0-2) in Pineville.
Mustang senior running back Alex Biedenharn rushed the ball 24 times for 238 yards, scoring four touchdowns. River Oaks running back Tristan Sheehan added 16 carries for 59 yards and sophomore quarterback Brendan MacGregor rushed for 20 yards on seven carries.
MacGregor found it difficult to get the Mustangs' passing offense in gear on the rainy night in Pineville. MacGregor only completed one pass out of 13 attempts for negative two yards.
Not taking anything away from 2011 Class A semifinalist Cenla Christian, River Oaks will be stepping up in competition this week as they travel to play the three time MAIS Class AAA champion Jackson Academy Raiders.
