Ouachita residents brace for storm Monroe resident Tim Britt spent much of Wednesday afternoon at the Saul Adler Recreation Center with his neighbor, Charles Spikes.
Britt lives near Lee Junior High School and was filling sandbags in order to provide at least some protection to his Northside home. He wants to be ready in case Hurricane Isaac caused widespread flooding when effects from Isaac struck Ouachita Parish late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
"If I did get water, I couldn't live with myself if I did not try," Britt said.
Isaac came ashore Tuesday near Grand Isle. The storm slowed and trekked northwest at about six miles per hour.
