Professor receives prestigious award
Dr. Roxie Stewart, assistant professor of pharmacy practice at the University of Louisiana-Monroe, was awarded the nationally recognized Bowl of Hygeia award at the Louisiana Pharmacists Association's Annual Conference.
The Bowl of Hygeia award, which depicts the national symbol for pharmacy, has been associated with the pharmacy profession since 1958, and is considered the most prestigious award in the field. According to the American Pharmacists Association Foundation, "the Bowl of Hygeia Award recognizes pharmacists who possess outstanding records of civic leadership in their communities, and encourages pharmacists to take active roles in their communities.
