Edwards to headline annual banquet
Former Gov. Edwin Edwards will deliver the keynote address at the annual banquet of the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber president Courtney Hornsby announced the Edwards appearance at a luncheon Tuesday afternoon. The annual banquet is scheduled for Dec. 11 at 12 p.m. at the West Monroe Convention Center.
"The board of directors felt former Gov. Edwards represented a living piece of Louisiana history with a story that many would find interesting," Hornsby said.
Hornsby said the recent publication of Leo Honeycutt's biography of Edwards renewed interest in the former four-term governor.
Hornsby noted that she was reading the biography herself and looked forward to hearing what Edwards has to say in December. |
