Parish announces sandbag locations
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Beginning tonight (8/28/12) at 5 pm, sand and sandbags will be available for the public to use to assist in alleviating flooding in the event of heavy rain caused by Hurricane Isaac.

Sheriff Jay Russell is supplying inmate labor to assist with filling sandbags. However, the Parish will not have manpower available to assist with filling or loading the sandbags at all of the below locations.

Please be prepared to fill and load your own sandbags if necessary. This includes bringing your own shovel. The Parish is not at liberty to deliver sandbags to non-public locations.

The sand and sandbags will available at

• 2201 Ticheli Road, Monroe, La (behind Louisiana Machinery and across the street from Shady Grove Elementary)

• 340 Trade Street (formally known as Edwards Road) off of New Natchitoches, West Monroe

• Osterland Recreation Center – 710 Holland Drive, Monroe, LA Batteries
