American Red Cross seeks help
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Northeast Louisiana chapter of the American Red Cross has two shelters open to house evacuees of Hurricane Isaac. They are: The Lillie Marbles Recreation Center, 2950 Renwick Street, Monroe, LA and the Madison-Tallulah Community Center, Beech Street in Tallulah. The Monroe shelter currently has 40 evacuees and the Tallulah shelter has 50 evacuees.

The local chapter has made an appeal for donated towels, wash cloths, bottled water and disposable diapers. These items can be delivered to the chapter office at 414 Breard Street, Monroe.

Tropical Storm Isaac is predicted to trigger a large and prolonged response with major flooding across several states. People can call, click or text to donate by visiting http://www.redcross.org calling 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) or texting REDCROS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

For additional information, please contact Anne Patten, 318-323-5141.
