Masur acquires works of 'extremely prolific' artist The Masur Museum of Art is showing off its latest major acquisition. Through Oct. 20, the museum will display "Improvisations in Time: Eugene J. Martin and the Masur Museum of Art," a retrospective which includes 24 of the artist's works.
Martin's widow donated the paintings to the Masur permanent collection for the exhibit.
Martin (1938-2005) was an African-American fine arts painter and accomplished jazz musician who attended the Corcoran School of Art in the early 1960s.
