NE Baptist travels to Tensas Academy to kickoff season

On Friday, the Northeast Baptist School (NBS) Knights will travel to Tensas Academy (TA) in St. Joseph, La to tangle with the Chiefs in their 2012 openner of the regular season schedule on Friday, August 17.

In last week's Franklin Academy Jamboree, NBS played the host school Franklin Academy, but came up with a 28-6 loss. In the Knights' second jamboree game, they were suppose to play their week one opponent Tensas, but mother nature intervined forcing the game to be called with the Chiefs up 6-0.

"We are trying to get our fundamentals down right now," said first year coach Tyler Albritton. "We were able to get in the Franklin game, but we couldn't finish the Tensas game due to lightening."

One of the bright spots for the Knights in the Franklin Academy Jamboree was the play of running back Denver Waren who scored the Knights only touchdown in the jamboree. Waren just transferred to NBS.

Albritton hopes to open his offense this week as the face the defended Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) eight state champions.
