The Fifth Congressional District in Louisiana, which includes Ouachita and 21 other parishes in the northeastern and central part of the state, was ranked second in the U.S. in 2011 in exports to China.

Crop production was the number one export nationally, statewide and in the Fifth District.

According to a report just issued by the U.S. China Business Council (USCBC), the Fifth District exported $3.079 billion in goods and products to China last year.
