Jindal touts roads program

Gov. Bobby Jindal says people living along rural roads in Louisiana will begin to see improvements to those roads soon, thanks to a new law that takes effect this year.

Jindal traveled to Monroe Wednesday afternoon to unveil the list of projects that will be funded through a new state law that allows the state to bond out up to half of the State Highway Improvement Fund.

The bill Jindal talked about at a gathering at the Monroe Chamber of Commerce was authored by Rep. Jim Fannin. Jindal signed it into law following the regular legislative session.
