Monroe-based CenturyLink, Inc. will expand operations at its headquarters on U.S. 165 North in Monroe, the company announced last week.

Ohio architectural firm Moody Nolan will oversee the project. Moody Nolan is one of the nation's largest African-American owned architecture firms. They maintain offices in Dallas, Texas.

The new facility is part of CenturyLink's commitment to expand its local workforce by as many as 800 new employees. Company spokeswoman Annmarie Sartor said in an email that plans are still in the early stages of development.

"We don't know exactly what departments or functions will be housed in the new facility," said Sartor. "There are not a lot of details at this time.
