Martha Jane Anderson: July 19, 2012
 The rain, thunder and lightning of the last week were welcome reminders of the awesome power of the Lord's presence during the long hot summer. It reminds us that many times we put God on hold in our lives until a crisis comes along.
The more we place God on hold, the harder it is for us to find Him. The Lord wants to be our highest priority...He wants us to take time for Him first each day. As we choose to walk close to Him, He can bless others through learning that His grace is sufficient for all our needs. When we are burdened, we place our trust in Him and somehow have joy no matter the circumstances. As we affirm our faith, worry falls away instantly. Our good friend, Mike Lohan, has just been elected the Grand Knight of the Monroe Knights of Columbus Council #1337, a service organization affiliated with the Catholic church. We are so proud of Mike for his devotion to Jesus the Good Shepherd Church. He will not miss Saturday afternoon mass even if it's LSU vs. Alabama on TV. His church comes first with Mike.

Martha Jane Anderson retired from University of Louisiana-Monroe after 35 years of service as Assistant Dean of Students and SGA Advisor. She is married to Patrick H. Anderson Sr., has two children, and four grandchildren. |
