ESU recruiting new members

The English-Speaking Union of Monroe is currently holding a membership drive to recruit new members.

Last year the ESU of Monroe had 144 members. This year, the group hopes to build on that base.

"The programs we have planned for the upcoming year are sure to draw in membership," said Jean Huenefeld, secretary for the Monroe branch of the ESU.

Every year is filled with speakers from across Louisiana and the rest of the country, who promote communication and open exchange of ideas. Tentative programs for 2012-2013 include Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne, Dr. Terry Jones, Todd Webber, Dr. Trey Berry and more.
