Monroe 9-year olds win state - Monroe All-Stars knocks off EORD-North 6-1
.jpg "Monroe 9-year olds win state - Monroe All-Stars knocks off EORD-North 6-1") The Monroe Dixie Youth 9-year American All-Star team went undefeated (5-0) to claim the state championship in the Minor Division. The state championship game featured two teams from Ouachita Parish as the Monroe All-Stars knocked off the East Ouachita Recreation District – North (EORD-N) team 6-0 at the Ponchatoula Dixie Youth complex on Sunday.
The Monroe All-Star team went 3-0 through pool play defeating Moss Bluff 10-0, West Monroe 8-1 and Tioga 9-1. In the semifinals, Monroe blasted the Concordia All-Star team 11-2 to advance to the state championship game.
The EORD – N All-Star team went 3-0 in pool play with wins over Haughton 16-1, Pineville 8-0 and Gonzales 14-2. EORD-N shut out the Bossier All-Stars 10-0 in the semifinal game.
The Monroe 9-year Olds American All-Star Team roster includes Bennett Allen Brown, John David Eberts, Spencer Gerard Gardner, James Samuel Graves, Graham Michael Hebert, Austin James Jenson, Jackson Reed Landry, William Andrew Perkins, Jon Alexander Rightsell, Wesley Harrison Robinson, Nelson McKenzie Sparks and Grayson Lynch Surles. Robert Landry, Sperry Brown and Chris Robinson coached the 9-year Monroe Dixie All-Star Team.
