Former Rebels on national radar
West Monroe products Barkevious Mingo and Dillon Day are making waves on the national scene for their excellent play on the collegiate level.
On Monday, the Maxwell Football Club named Mingo to the watch list for the Bednarik Award, which is awarded to the nation's top defensive player at season end.
On Tuesday, the Rimington Trophy committee announced that Mississippi State sophomore center Dillon Day was named to the 2012 Rimington Trophy Preseason Watch List.
Day is one of eight underclassmen on the 51-man watch list for the award, given annually to the most outstanding center in college football.
