Monroe meter installations continue
The city of Monroe is replacing user water meters with automated water meters, and officials say the project is 87 percent complete.
The project began in July 2011, and the AMR digital systems are being installed at no additional cost to the customers.
In the next two weeks, the city's meter installation company, Vanguard Utility Service, Inc., will be working in various neighborhoods throughout the city. Meters that were previously inaccessible or unable to be replaced are now being changed out.
