Rivermarket to open in October
Monroe's Downtown Rivermarket is set to open Oct. 13.
This season the RiverMarket will be open every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. until Dec. 15. It will reopen in April of 2013 until Dec. 2013.
The RiverMarket will act as a French-style market along the existing river walk on the Ouachita River near the Ouachita Parish Courthouse. It will feature a farmer's market, vendors and pavilions where people can host parties and events.
"It will provide more retail space for the downtown area and will give the community a gathering place," said Downtown Economic Development Director Myra Gatling-Akers.
