Future uncertain for ULM's Walker Hall

George T. Walker Hall will remain off-limits to students and faculty at the University of Louisiana-Monroe for some time, due to structural damage sustained during a fire in the building June 12.

ULM officials say they are still working to assess the damages. It is too soon to estimate the cost of those damages, officials said.

According to the state Fire Marshall's office, the fire began in an old stove in an unused area of Walker Hall. All university staff and students were successfully evacuated from the building. No injuries were reported.
