West Monroe High School's soccer program conducted a soccer camp for elementary and junior high boys and girls this week at Rebel Stadium.

"We are trying to get these kids hooked on the sport by having fun," said Chris Barron, West Monroe Rebel Soccer Camp Director. "We are teaching them the skills they need such as kicking the ball and passing while playing the game."

Over seventy five kids are participating in this year's camp. The West Monroe Rebel Soccer Camp began on Monday and will last through Friday with campers arriving at 8:00 a.m. and playing until 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. (Varied by age group).

"Our camp's lessons are varied by age group," said Barron. "For the elementary kids, we are teaching the basic fundamentals of passing, receiving and kicking the ball while our junior students are being taught the various skill sets that we teach our high players." Barron is also the girls soccer coach at West Monroe High School.
